London Borough of Bromley – Care Homes (Residential & Daycare) Care homes provide long-term care for people who can no longer remain safely at home even with support. There are 3 types of care home: care homes that provide accommodation, meals and twenty-four hour personal care and attention but do not provide care for people who need nursing support; care homes with nursing that look after people who need regular nursing care, which can only be provided by a qualified nurse or under the direct supervision of a qualified nurse; and care homes that are registered to provide both residential and nursing care, which enables a wide range of services to be given.
